![]() ![]() John Haldane founded Grand Memories in the mid-1990s as a photo restoration business. That business can be found at grandmemories.com but is currently closed. Please check it later. In 2008 John separated the photography side of his business from the restoration side and opened grandmemories.us as a separate web site, devoted entirely to fine nature photography. John retired in 2006 from the "9-5" routine and began devoting full time to his life-long love of photography. He has thousands of photographs in the archives, some taken on 35mm film but since 2006 all digital. He has accumulated over 30 years of photographs of the wonders of nature across America. In recent years, digital images have come to the fore and with John's expertise in Photoshop and Lightroom, the images can be made to sparkle. John is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) since 1999, and the F/32, and Digital Photo Pros organizations. He also interacts with numerous other photography organizations, photographers, and web sites. His photographs have been displayed in art galleries, at art fairs, and on internet sites. Several photographs have achieved recognition or were given awards. In 2008, he participated in the first Scott Kelby International Photo Walk, an event that covered the globe in more than 150 cities. He has participated each year after that as well. John's equipment is all Canon. He has a 40D and an EOS 7D camera, 24-105mm lens, 70-200mm f/2.8, L series AF lens, and a 400mm f/2.8 L series AF lens. Photos can be found on this web site and at Flickr. John lives in Asheville, North Carolina with his wife, Laura. They have two grown sons. All
